CocoRoom Winter Interior

My sister was recently at this non-profit art collective, CocoRoom, in Osaka.  I loved these two photos.

Chilly and mesmerizing.

The Story of Smallville

Part 1: Smallville

Today the sky is gray in the tiny town of Smallville, also known as the town of "Chestnut", not because it produces chestnuts (the climate in Smallville is much too dry and bitter-cold to cultivate chestnuts), but rather because, from afar, the brown rowhouses clustered together on top of this frozen hill resemble a chestnut, or so they say, for I can´t tell you for sure, as I am blind since birth.

windows on a sunny winter afternoon (ann arbor, michigan) (to be read out loud)

Quick, curtains, make way!

It is the sun!

who barely ever pays us a visit.

"Enter, enter!

Please, make yourself at home!"

it difuses through three sides of the small room

creates a refuge of soft golden light

illiminates and LIFTS the room right out of the cold reality

into a warm silent refuge.

It will leave soon...

Absorb, absorb!

try to capture it!

"Don't leave just yet!"

I'm trying to capture you

in my pores and

in my notebook

so I can keep you with me

long after you've moved on

to the next house.
